Song Lists - What to choose.

The Piano Guy is here to support you on your special day.

He can help you make the important choices with the music perfect for one of the most important days of your life. Rest assured when it is in the hands of the professional.

Choosing your wedding music

It is vital you set the right ambience for the special occasion.

Ceremony Music

Choosing the music for your wedding ceremony is extremely important. It is arguably one of the most important parts of a wedding day.  As such you must not leave your music to chance, it must be carefully planned.  As the bride walks down the aisle and the groom stands in anticipation the emotion in the room is heightened and the ambience must reflect that.  Of all the things you need at a wedding, perhaps after the venue and dress, little can do as much to contribute to this moment as music can.

So here is the guidance we give to all of our clients.

The Guests take their seats

As guests sit, usually about 15 minutes before the ceremony (at most venues) I will be playing some songs from my repertoire below. You can choose if you like or leave it to my experience.

The Processional (Bridal Entrance)

For this part we recommend an emotional ballad that means something to you both. A “tearjerker” if you like. When the bride is ready on the other side of the door, the registrar or toastmaster will signal the congregation to stand. At that point I will pause and then start the song that we have planned for this moment. Please note that unless specifically requested I will end this in a natural musical way as the bride reaches the front. If you particularly wish to hear all of the song, if it is that special to you, you might wish to leave it to another part of the day.

Here are some popular suggestions.

  • 1000 years – Christina Perri
  • Perfect – Ed Sheeran
  • How long will I love you – Ellie Golding
  • Your song – Elton John
  • All of me – John Legend
  • Amazed – Lonestar
  • Here comes the sun – The Beatles
  • The One – Kodaline

The signing

For this you need 2 or 3 songs. Again you can choose from my repertoire or let me pick what I think complements the moment.

The Recessional (Grand Exit)

This is a happy moment. You are now married. The registrar will usually invite your guests to stand and applaud the newly weds as they make their way out from the ceremony room. For this we recommend and short and jolly segment of a song, a chorus or hook line that sticks in your guests minds, gives them something to clap to or even sing along.

  • Marry you – Bruno Mars
  • Signed Sealed Delivered – Stevie Wonder
  • It must be love – Madness

Of course all the above is a guideline.  On the day the music has to reflect who you are and I will perform it with soul and passion.
