Mr and Mrs Howard and Mark the Piano Guy at Mitton Hall

Wedding music at Mitton Hall

Well December was a busy month as it always is in my trade.  One of the highlights for me was providing wedding music at Mitton Hall

I was booked to play for the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast of Mr and Mrs Howard at the fantastic Mitton Hall, a breathtaking wedding venue set in the Ribble valley, parts of which were originally built for King Henry VII.  Although Liz Hendry (my wife and business partner) had played there a few times this was my first engagement there.   I was, however, familiar with the place as we had done a hugely successful wedding fayre there a couple of months previous with Little White Books.

Upon arriving I was welcomed by the wedding coordinator on the day, Emma, who’s attention to detail and offers of cups of coffee got my day off to a great start.

The Bride and Groom requested some songs for the ceremony that were special to them.  Beverly walked in to the ceremony to How long will I love you by Ellie Goulding.  Of course the bride was stunning!  The groom was handsome too but I was more interested in the all-white Landrover that he arrived in lol!

The beautiful bride and me.

For the signing of the register I sang All of me by John Legend and Let’s stay together by Al Green, but the real fun part was as they walked out as husband and wife.  They requested the song Burning love by Elvis Presley.  Little did I know this was setting the tone for the rest of the day.

During the drinks reception the guests were really engaged and requested some fantastic songs, my favourite being A Kind of Magic by Queen.

The wedding breakfast continued in the same way with the guests getting up and dancing around the tables.  It made the whole event really enjoyable for me as well as them.

The bride sent me this lovely review:-

Mark created a fantastic atmosphere at our wedding at Mitton Hall in December. He provided a lovely ambience as our guests arrived, creating a romantic setting that continued through the ceremony and then helped us to leave with a bang and put smiles on everyone’s faces with a rendition of ‘Burning Love’ by Elvis as we walked out. During the drinks reception, Mark did a great job of keeping our guests entertained as we went off for photographs and we were delighted that he was also available for our wedding breakfast. As the meal went on and requests came in, our guests really engaged with Mark and thoroughly enjoyed singing along and getting in the mood to party. Mark did a great job at capturing the mood and emotion in the room, choosing the songs as appropriate as we moved through the different stages of the day. He created such a great atmosphere that we didn’t want him to leave once the breakfast was over. After the bride, groom and bridesmaids, he definitely was one of the major stars of the day and his presence there completely made it for us and our guests. Thank you Mark

Thank you so much to Mr and Mrs Howard and all of their wonderful guests for a great day.  It was a real privilege to provide my unique style of wedding music at Mitton Hall.  A huge thanks to the staff there, especially Emma who made my working day as easy as it could be (and caffeinated).  We look forward to returning there soon.
